Veteran recording artiste Yoga Man, was guest on the recent edition of Reggae Sessions. Born Samuel Lamount, Yoga Man was born in the beautiful parish of Portland and grew up in a community named Breastwork.
He won a National Festival Gold medal in 1983 for his stage performance of yoga acrobatics and was well known internationally for his intricate acrobatic poses. In fact, he once wrote the exercise column for the Flair which is the Monday magazine for the Jamaica Gleaner. He earned the name the Amazing YOGA MAN of Jamaica as he exposed his acrobatic craft and took on the name in his singing career.
As a singer Lamount epitomizes music with a purpose as he has used the proceeds from his music to fund scholarships, sports development, community development, youth development as well as social and environmental awareness.
